Weekends are for a pitcher of chilled beer, the company of dear friends, a good ambiance and of course great food!
Gurgaon is now days also being called as the brewery hub.
Inhouse beer, made and served right out of the silos is the upcoming trend these days.
Warehouse café is no new name for the delhietes. They have been served great Indian fusion food since years.
Their Gurgaon outlet recently inaugurated a brewery on the ground floor.
But why Warehouse cafe? In the radius of about 100m in sector 29, there are more than 30 new breweries have popped up.
The same question came to our mind as well, Why warehouse?
Well, the answer is simple. They don’t have just any beer, they are serving in-house German brute beer at great prices!
Warehouse is sprawled over two floors. The ground floor has their brewery and the storage silos which takes up most of the area.
The basement has the bar on one end and a Dj set up with the dance floor on the other.
The restaurant is dimly lit, giving it the feel of a lounge with filament bulbs hanging from the roof. The whole decor revolves around a rustic superman theme.
There is a huge rot iron mantle in the wall in the shape of the superman logo, the table mats are quirky quotes by almost all the superheroes. Even their menu is designed keeping the superhero theme in mind.
For drinks I tried the oreo shake, virgin mojito and of course the best German beer in town.
The shake was a little too watery for our taste. The virgin mojito was very refreshing and the sugar content was also apt. The german beer on the other hand took the show! If you visit warehouse. You absolutely must try their beer.
I paired my beer with some “sophisticated chakhna”
We had the crostini mushrooms and achari paneer. The button mushrooms were hollowed from the bottom and filled with a creamy filling then they were roasted. Very smooth on the palate, the mushrooms are ideal for someone who wants to avoid having spicy food.
The Achari paneer was their take on paneer tikka. The paneer was marinated well in a spicy yogurt base and then grilled on the tandoor. After the paneer was grilled, the pieces were tossed again in a spicy mixed masala and then sandwiched between grilled capsicums and onions. The presentation gets brownie points.
After this we wanted to try out something from their Desi Delhi section and ordered the dilli chaat sampler.
In this we got 3 pani poori, 1 dahi bhalla, a tiny portion of papri chaat and a mini samosa. We absolutely loved the dahi bhalla, it was soft with lots of dahi and chutney.
By the time we got to the main course we were so full that we ended up ordering just the lamb lasagna.
It had multiple lasagna sheets with a minced chicken and tomato blend sauce and lots and lots of molten cheese.
It was amazing in taste,we just hoped that they had a little more chicken in the preparation.

Overall, Warehouse 2.0 is a great place with good music and food, great ambiance and chilled beer. The only drawback according to us is the extremely slow service.
