Our love for pan asian has been ever growing recently. With so many places popping up in the city , serving authentic or atleast claiming to serve authentic asian cuisine, it has become easier for us to try and test the different asian variants available. We recently took this journey of hunting for good pan asian eateries and went to try out the small outlet of YUM YUM CHA in select city walk, saket.
We had heard a lot about this place but never really got a chance to try it out or to tell you the truth never really got the seats . The place is always packed !
Located on the third floor of Select City walk mall, the outlet is not very big with about 10-12 tables. The entire outlet is decorated with origami and has an open kitchen at the back.
The ambiance is quite relaxed and layed back with a good aroma of asian flavours in the air.
For drinks we had the Thai Orange and Kefir Lime and the Green Apple Fun Bottle.
For starters we had quite a few things. We started off with the Chicken and chilli oil Dimsum and the Prawn and Chive Dimsums which were absolutely brilliant.
We loved the chicken and chilli ones so much that we were forced to order another round!
The next starter is a YUM YUM special. It was the sushi boat. We had heard a lit things about the sushi served at yum yum and after trying we can positively back all the claims made. They were absolutely amazing! Our personal favourite was the dynamite prawn. A must try!
For mains we tried the chefs specials on the menu. We started this course with Spicy Basil and Sizzling Chilli Rice Bowl with Chicken shreads. We loved the spicy gravy with peanuts and the sticky rice, it made a great combination. Next we tried the Prawn and corriender Noodle Bowl, this was also very good. The best part about the bowl meals is that they are served in piping hot stone bowls and the served mixes the meal right infront of you on the table. This way the meal stays piping hot for us to dig into it!
The last item that we tried has to be the best on the menu. This was their Red Thai Curry with steamed rice. We have had thai curry at quite a few places, but never enjoyed it so much. The flavour of the cocount and chilli was just right, it was bot overpowering the flavour of the Chicken at all! This dish is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
After stuffing ourselves with soo much food we hardly had any space for dessert but managed to try their Cheesecake with strawberry compote and boy were we glad we did so!
